Each year we make the pilgrimage to the annual Gunlock Rodeo. We got there early this year and the kids couldn't understand why we had to be there 45 minutes EARLY!!! That's the funnest part watching everyone riding in the arena before the rodeo starts. BC (before children) Lynn and I would saddle the horses (okay Lynn saddled mine) and ride around the arena and visit with everyone, some of them we hadn't seen since the last rodeo. When I'm in that little arena I relive the memories of the past when I would wait until 1:00 in the morning to watch Lynn rope and have kids sleeping on the bleachers or wait until 2:00 a.m. to watch Garrett rope only to have his header miss. But, the fact of the matter is I wouldn't change it for anything, even though our two ropers are gone the memories of the past live on and hopefully we are making new ones for the future.
