This afternoon I got a call from my high school friend Teresa Woods (post "a true friend") about an article that appeared in the Review Journal today. It is about those of us who never got voted in as queen and now we FINALLY get our chance. Here is part of the article:
We'd like to choose our own prom king and queen. Take that, all you snobby kids who spurned us way back when.
Send us one of your prom photos and a description in 250 words or less of your prom experience and why you think you should become the R-J's prom royalty.
Well as you know from a previous post I was never voted to be queen! Yes, Senior Class President so I could plan a fun filled week for the snotty brats for our Senior Sluff Trip, and yes Varsity Head Cheerleader so I could cheer on those boys in the green and white short basketball shorts GO BULLDOGS! But never queen, so I'm wondering if the RJ would be kind enough to finally bestow on me the honor that I should have received so many years ago from 23 classmates who didn't vote for me. Not that I'm not grateful for the Tiara girls, but I really think I deserve the title as well.
I've found my pictures, scanned them in and I even sent this email to my high school girlfriends that think they are going to compete with me.
Decisions---decisions---the up do with the sparkling blue twisted crepe paper to show off my eyes? Or? The ever so symmetrical twisted red crepe paper with the bleachers behind that matches my dress? The hat is quite stunning and I think I like my hair better down, can’t really tell if there is a flower with that ribbon or not….oh who cares, I’m thinking the red velvet dress made by Noma, along with the pearl ring that was crocheted by her also.
Bet you haven’t found your pictures yet….mine are in the coffee table book….JK.
Love from the Queen,
Janece
So all you blog followers I need your help should I send top photo Junior Prom or bottom photo Senior Ball. (yes I had dates but I wanted a picture of just "ME"-HELLO)
PS Teresa if you send in your photo I'm changing the title of the post about you to "Friend betrays Friend"

I agree Mindy....geez why didn't I think of rigging it...I counted the votes!
This is Misty....Teresa's REAL favorite daughter!
Both pictures are cute (I wish I would've thought to get a picture of just ME at my proms!!), but I'd have to agree with Mindy about the red velvet dress photo. Darling!
Another one of Teresa's daughters...
I'm totally digging the red dress too. I hope the Review Journal gives you the title you are so long overdue for!
My mom better not betray one of her best friends by sending in a picture. I may have to disown her if she does. ;)
Red velvet, loving it! That's my pick.
ROLLING ON FLOOR LAUGHING MY ASS OFF!!!!! WAIT -
You were class president and Head Varsity Cheerleader? Wouldn't that make you one of the snobs? I guess I shoulda gone to school more? Well I know what I will be doing this week. Digging out my prom pictures.
Now, Trying to think. Did I have dates? Did I go to the proms? Was I ever in High school? LOL Okay I vote for the red velvet with the hat. (makes me laugh the most) Please, please, let Theresa post her prom pictures. I would love to see everyone's all 15 of us!!!!!
PS I hope you still have that hat as I need help with my yard. My house is a mess too...Come over here and be the queen of my double wide. Yes you can wear the Tiara!
Actually, Why don't you post them both? Give yourself a better chance!
They are pretty cute pictures...Why can't we have youth and wisdom together?
I vote the red dress....love it!
