Today I want to take a moment ( through tears) and tell you about one of the most remarkable men I've ever known DEAN CROSBY GARDNER. Today is his birthday, we would always have a celebration for him on his big day even after he was gone Grandma G would always plan a party for him. But today is his birthday and there is no party planned but I can assure you that every member of his family will be thinking about him and remembering the life of this wonderful man and the effect that he had on each of us individually.
Just a few of the MANY things about him and ways he touched my life:
1. He loved unconditionally
2. He made the best dutch oven potatoes
3. He would wear silly hats and aprons because Grandma wanted him too
4. When he got on a horse you knew he was a real cowboy
5. He knew all of his cows and horses
6. He was a Temple Worker
7. He was the Branch President of the PV Church for a gazillion years
8. We called him "Granddad" not Grandpa and it seemed so much more appropriate because he
was the extension of the dads
9. He loved rodeos especially the "triple crown" Gunlock, Enterprise & Veyo-and attended the
Dixie Round Up all three nights-always stayed for the slack
10. He was a St. George Lion
11. You didn't mess with his kids or grandkids
12. He loved watching his grandkids rodeo
13. He looked great in a cowboy hat
14. He liked new trucks
15. He was a member or president of every board imagineable
16. He loved watching BYU football
17. He was my biggest supporter when Lynn died
18. He loved gathering cows on the Strip
19. He was not to high on Grandma's "projects"
20. He was a great example of all that is good
Megan remembers his scruffy beard and whisker kisses!
Ash says squeezes and whiskers-scruffy!! (funny how they both said the same thing)
This is just barely a few of the wonderful things that comprised this man.
I miss him!

I feel so sad that I never knew him. I guess that is what eternity is for. Thank you for this post though, I love every bit of information that helps me to feel like I know him better.
