The mortar was started this morning and I'm a little nervous. Jason did a sample for me and used black and I HATED it so we are trying dark brown with a little black in it. Last night my neighbor Chad stopped and told me they used dark brown and it turned pink/maroon/purple color so to be careful. So I took a break from school and went to check...so far so good...but the sample piece he had made me this morning was turning a purplish color so I'm glad they added a little black. I'll see how it looks this afternoon after it dries a little and the sun bakes it. I don't want him to start the front until I see it dried. Notice the oversized frosting bag that they are using to "pipe" it in!!!

Janece! It is all looking soo good! I love it!
I'm glad I don't have to make all these decisions. But it is looking really good.
And...you should have called me. Use a 641 davis mortar base and you will have a true brown. I see your not using my stone either, shame on you!!!
Seriousely though I love your blog whenever I want a good laugh I can count on you. You should think "Memoirs" you certainly have had enough in your life to fill a book. I'd buy it, or I would expect a copy for Christmas...signed of course.
